Everything you need to know about NUST Aggregate Calculator

1. How is NUST aggregate calculated?
NUST uses a specific weightage formula to determine your final merit position. The aggregate is calculated as follows:

• NUST Entry Test (NET): 75%
• HSSC / A-Level / Equivalent: 15%
• SSC / O-Level / Equivalent: 10%

Note: If your HSSC Part-II result is not available, the aggregate is calculated based on HSSC Part-I marks.
2. Who is eligible for NUST admission?
Basic eligibility criteria for undergraduate programs include:

Minimum Marks: At least 60% aggregate marks in both SSC (Matric) and HSSC (FSc) or equivalent exams.
Pre-Medical Students: Students with a Pre-Medical background can apply for CS and Engineering programs but must pass deficiency mathematics courses after admission.
International/A-Level Students: Must provide an equivalence certificate from IBCC with the required minimum marks (60%).
3. How much aggregate is required for NUST?
Since NUST admission is strictly merit-based, there is no fixed passing aggregate. However, based on recent closing trends for the H-12 Islamabad Campus, here are the estimated requirements:

  • Computing Programs (CS, SE, AI, DS): These are the most competitive. A safe aggregate is 80%+. The merit usually closes around 78%–79%.

  • Engineering Programs (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil): A safe aggregate is 72%–75%. The closing merit typically ranges from 68%–71%, with Civil and Chemical often closing slightly lower.

  • Business & Social Sciences (BBA, A&F, LLB): A safe aggregate is 76%–79%. BBA and Accounting & Finance usually close around 75%–77%.

  • Other Campuses (EME, MCS, PNEC): Admissions for Rawalpindi and Karachi campuses generally require an aggregate 3%–5% lower than the main H-12 campus.

4. Can I improve my aggregate?
Yes. NUST conducts the entry test in four series (NET-1, NET-2, NET-3, and NET-4) usually between December and July.

• You can appear in as many series as you want.
• Only your best NET score is used for the final aggregate calculation.
• There is no negative marking in the NET exam, so attempting all questions is recommended.
5. What is the total fee of NUST?
The fee structure for National Students (Engineering/Computing) for the 2025-26 session is approximately:

One-time Admission Processing Fee: Rs. 35,000 (Non-refundable)
Security Deposit: Rs. 10,000 (Refundable)
